A Week of Ins and Outs, Comings and Goings, Hellos and Goodbyes (and Visitor News)

What a big week it has been at Ruel, with the changing nature of life at an orphanage on full display.

We first said goodbye to 6-year-old Mr J, who went to live with his 'Forever Family' in Canada

The next day we said hello to 2-month-old bundle of cuteness Baby Girl J. At this stage she is here temporarily.

We were then visited by Baby JM. He will not be staying with us, but thanks to our supporters we will be able to give him an operation to repair his cleft lip/palate.

On Thursday we said goodbye to Baby M. He has been with us since Christmas due to malnutrition, and is now well enough to return to his family. That's a win-win.

On the same day we said hello to 8-year-old Miss P. She is from the other side of Mindoro Island (Occidental) and has various health issues which will be taken care of. She seems to have settled in well in her first couple of days here, and has a great big smile that comes very easily (as you can see).

VISITOR NEWS
April is a HUGE month for staff comings and goings.

On Sunday April 6 we welcome Rachel Zwonitzer from the US who will be volunteering with us for a month.

On April 11 we have a 10-person team from YWAM Marine Reach (Discipleship Training School) in New Zealand joining us for 3 weeks.

On April 16, Laura and Henriika from Finland will also be joining us.

  1. Oh that's so awesome that a YWAM DTS team will be visiting Ruel! My friend's brother just got back from a YWAM DTS in Latin America and it sounds like such an amazing program. It was also great to hear all the updates on the kiddos at Ruel :)
